Hey there love! Welcome to my website. My name is LaTasha Ledbetter and I am a speaker, author, mentor, and Lifestyle influencer. In January 2018, I shifted my focus from Life Coaching to speaking and sharing my story. I felt this was the path that God needed me to take to become more confident in the woman He created me to be. I have been known as the Rebel Queen for a number of years. A rebel with a cause: helping women to break free from their brokenness, bondage, and captive mindsets. My message is still the same, however I am no longer hiding behind the crown or the idea of what my "perfect" self looks like.
I took a break from the Rebel Queen persona but realized, I am and always will be a Rebel Queen. I help women break free from their brokenness, bondage, and captive mindsets to become the leaders God has created them to be. However, I do not have to be a life coach in order to do this.
I always start my story off with, I'm just a little brown skinned girl from High Point, NC. I am the youngest of three and the only girl. My parents had me when they were in their early forties, so you can imagine the surprise when my mom discovered she was not going through "the change" and was about to have baby! I am and always will be a daddy's girl, as my father and I are really close.
My parents did the best they could with what they had, and I grew into an intelligent young woman who went on to be a first generation college graduate. On paper and in person, I may look to have it all together as I have a lot of good things to be proud of. Inside however, was a different story. I was a complete mess on the inside. I had low self-esteem and poor self-image. I felt empty, alone, unworthy, and unlovable. I believed the lies that I was not good enough and less than, and would never find love because of my weight.
I was verbally and emotionally abused as a child and well into my adulthood by mom. As a woman, I understand that she is flawed and human, just like I am. I understand that she did not mean those things she said to me, and thought she was helping me. It has taken years of self-discovery, counseling, prayer, crying, etc, to get to this point of healing and forgiveness. A young child does not understand how the brokenness of their parent can be projected on them, and that in reality their parent may not understand they are doing their child more harm than good.
At the age of 28, I saw the need for me to begin working on my self-esteem, and by age 32, I decided to find out who I was and what my purpose was on this Earth. That journey led to discovering my true passion in life, not only who I was, the woman I was created to be in Christ. I am excited to be able to walk in the freedom of who God created me to be! I am also dedicated to helping as many women in my lifetime as possible. God wants YOU to be who He created you to be, freely and without shame. Someone's deliverance is tied to your obedience, so join me today in becoming the woman you need to be!
